Julie Chen Moonves will host the summer hit reality series Big Brother. The show returns to CBS on 5 August for its 2nd season. Chen Moonves has been an integral part of The Talk since 2010, where she was the host and the moderator. She was a journalist prior to becoming a host, but her love of writing was for the written word. It actually earned the show an Emmy. Also, she won one Emmy award for exceptional host of a talk program. The background she had in journalism helped her make the transition from The Talk, which examines topical events and contemporary issues through the eyes that of female hosts.Chen Moonves was co-host on CBS News' weekday morning show The Early Show from 2002 until 2010. The previous assignments included anchoring the CBS Morning News and The Early Show. After 9/11, she was sent to Cairo and located the main hijacker's father for an intense and shocking interview. Chen Moonves is a journalist who has worked with newsmakers including former New York City City Mayor Rudy Giuliani. Queen Rania as well as former Defense Secretary William Cohen and Denzel Washington. Chen Moonves is also a CBS Sunday Morning reporter, who has profiled stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis. Before The Early Show she was a reporter with WDTN TV Dayton which was based in Dayton Ohio (1995-1997). In her final academic year at the University, she served as an assistant at ABC News in Los Angeles (1990-1991) as well as the director of ABC NewsOne (the network's affiliated news program). Her first time working in broadcasting, as a desk assistant for ABC News' late-night show Nightline featuring Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel is one of her favorite journalists. Chen Moonves and Ted Koppel collaborated in Anatomy of a Riot - the primetime TV special that won the Columbia du-Pont award - which examined the Los Angeles riots of 1992.
